EDU 777 Midpoint Reflection
How has the process been?
Overall, this process has been challenging yet rewarding. I feel like this is something that will help me in my career and could possibly lead to a successful implementation of new technology in the classroom. It has been challenging, but by taking it step by step I do not feel to overwhelmed.
Have there been challenges?
Are you still excited about your topic and believe in its potential?
I am still incredibly excited about my topic. I think that I am more excited then I was when I started. After doing research this project seems more doable then before. I have read testimonials during this experience of how beneficial Chromebooks are in the classroom and I know how successful they could be in my classroom if this proposal follows through!
What has been the most positive aspect of this part of the journey?
The most positive aspect of this journey is taking the time to figure out the details of large projects like this. They organization of this journey has also been a positive aspect of the entire project. The feedback from my professor on how to find important information has also worked out well during this whole project.
The most negative?! (if any)
There have been no negative aspects during this project and journey.
What do you think of the Technology Specialist roles of Learning Specialist and Instructional Designer?
Honestly, I think that the idea of Technology Specialist is very overwhelming. I have found a new respect for the specialist in my district and what he does. I also now understand why he hasn't upgraded our technology before now. It takes a lot of planning and research to follow through as an instructional designer. I am not sure that this is a position I would be successful in. I understand the learning specialist side of the design plan but finding ways to integrate technology into every aspect of curriculum seems to be more complicated and demanding then I anticipated.
